2025 is a year of happiness for central staff who are employed. The good news of the 8th Pay Commission has just been received, and now the Modi government of India has made a grand announcement for government employees. The Modi government has brought about a very notable change in the leave travel concession – LTC – for the benefit of its central employees. According to the new system, the central employees are now opened to avail LTC in luxury trains-like Tejas Express, Humsafar Express, and Vande Bharat Express.

How to get the benefit of the scheme
Basically, it is a low-budget travel system. The LTC scheme will, during any individual’s leave, allow him or her to travel at very little expense. This means that even relatives of the central employees can avail themselves of traveling anywhere in the country through these trains.
The condition is that the journey should take place during the block schedule. For your information, the earlier LTC was deemed applicable only on trains like Rajdhani Express, Shatabdi and Duronto, but this time, it has been included in the LTC scheme.
Family members can also travel for free
The trains provided with facilities like Tejas, Vande Bharat, and Humsafar Express have been included in the scheme. Central employees have become happy upon this move by the government. In fact, even family members are also allowed to travel for free.
Per DoPT, a government employee can travel to his hometown twice in the block of two years or travel to his native town once in the block of two years and any place inside the country in the second block. Now 4-year blocks are underway going from 2022 to 2025. During such a scheme, a central government employee or any member of his or her family may travel at government cost.
